Madalina Dan’s newest performances and collaborations, as well as some of her older productions are opening in Romania at the National Center of Dance in Bucharest (CNDB) this fall. These events are starting on October 17 to November 20, 2016. Everything will be under the umbrella of the center’s revamped curatorial project Amprenta.
Amprenta, literally meaning both fingerprint and mark, has initially started in 2008 by giving a number of Romanian performers card blanche to put together a showcase of guest and their own shows, in order to both attract the public, and better outline their artistic personas as perceived by the public. The project is being renewed in 2016, when Madalina Dan was nominated CNDB’s associate artist.
“My vision focuses on disseminating and sharing contacts and experience gained during my master studies. I aim to facilitate an educational and training framework and to create a meeting point between the arts community in Romania and the diverse educational and arts context in Berlin,” Madalina said upon her nomination in May 2016.
Madalina’s Amprenta will feature The Agency of Touch – one on one format tactile performance. This will open at CNDB on October 17 to 22, and at Caminul Moses Rosen on October 23 to 25. A second event is All That Mattered, a performance scheduled on October 28. On October 30 there will be the Dominic Stanca performance, and a dialogue between Alina Popa and Madalina Dan, entilted What’s at Work. Two more performances are scheduled, one called Mothers of Steel, on November 13, and the other anti/aging, on November 19 respectively. Madalina Dan’s Amprenta will wrap-up on November 20 with an artist talk and more.
