Info
The CNDB and CINETic invite you to a two-day workshop with Patrick Kruse, Jorge Martinez Garcia and Christoph Vogel (MIREVI / University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf), where we will explore how MoCap and AR technologies can be applied in dance and performance projects.
SCHEDULE
Day 1
“Motion Capture: Practical Perspectives for Integrating Motion Capture Technology (MoCap) into Dance and Performance”
The workshop combines technical insights with practical experience, demonstrating the concrete application of various MoCap technologies in dance and movement. Participants will be introduced to the basics and functionalities of different MoCap systems. The workshop will also highlight several projects realized by the MIREVI team, illustrating the strengths and limitations of the different MoCap systems based on examples from dance practice. Special emphasis will be put on affordable, low-tech MoCap solutions suitable for dance and movement projects, making the workshop particularly interesting for artists and creators with little or no technical experience in MoCap.
Day 2
„From AI to 3D: Create your avatar for augmented reality (AR)”
The human body is essential in dance and movement, and its representation becomes particularly important when mixed reality technologies are introduced into the process. Including real-life examples of projects developed by the MIREVI team, the seminar provides an overview of the different possibilities for creating realistic and non-realistic 3D avatars and their integration in virtual environments. Special emphasis will be put on the creation of 3D characters using artificial intelligence and their integration into augmented reality. The format is designed for people with little or no technical experience in avatar creation, especially for artists and creators who are looking for affordable and low-tech solutions to bring 3D characters into their projects.
