“Danceable”: Explorations through “Spacial Dynamics” aims to offer participants a unique learning experience—one in which they can discover and deepen their connection with their own bodies in space through an innovative and creative approach.
The workshop objectives include: enhancing body awareness, expressing emotions through dance, fostering collaboration and teamwork, and exploring space and movement dynamics. In essence, the class embraces a creative approach to movement, rhythm, space, posture, and improvisation.
Biography
Catrinel Catană is a choreographer, contemporary dance teacher, performer, physiotherapist and practitioner of ‘Spacial Dynamics’ therapy.
She leads classes and workshops in contemporary dance and body awareness for children, young people and people with physical and intellectual disabilities in schools and non-governmental organizations, deeply understanding and being able to decipher the importance of movement in their lives.
Catrinel holds a degree in Choreography from the “I.L. Caragiale” University of Theatre and Film, where she also earned a Master’s in Choreographic Art. Since 2007, she has attended workshops in contemporary dance, choreographic dramaturgy, and movement therapy. She further specialized in “Kinetotherapy and Special Motricity” and completed a master’s degree in “Kinetotherapy in Locomotive Disorders” at the same university.
She is interested in the emotional mapping of the body and in the therapeutic dimension of dance and bodily expressivity.
In 2020, she was awarded by the National Center for Dance Bucharest for her contribution to the development of contemporary dance.
