The new production of the National Centre for Dance Bucharest, Bodies on the line, brings to the stage graduates of the CNDB Dance and Performance Academy 2022-2023, choreographed by Ioana Marchidan.
The show will also tour the country, in Sfântu-Gheorghe and Craiova, before its premiere at Iridescent 2023 – International Festival of Contemporary Dance and Other Reconfigurations of the Sensitive.
Bodies on the Line explores fragile territories between confessions and statements, placing bodies in spaces of both safety and uncertainty, from which they can articulate their anxieties, hopes and the need to belong to a collectivity that makes the daily struggle for survival a little more bearable.
The performance compresses the time of personal stories and dilates the pressure of the times in which we live, dominated by the alienating flight after overlapping projects, exhaustion, burn-out and the feeling that if you are not seen, you do not exist?
