The more I dance, the more I am
- A day of dance and joy, a collective tribute to Miriam Răducanu
4 hr
Info
October 17 is a day to celebrate together the 100th birthday of the artist Miriam Răducanu. And how better to do this than through dance?
Between 16:00 and 20:00, we’re putting the songs Miriam danced to in her shows on the speakers and leaving the dance floor in the exhibition hall at your disposal, whether you’re a dancer, amateur or just curious. Everyone is welcome! Performers Mihaela Dancs, Paula Dunker and Valentina de Piante will be on site to invite you to dance, to help you immerse yourself in the atmosphere, or, why not, to inspire you to overcome your fears about movement.
We called it “Diurn” of dance, because we pay collective homage, per day, to Miriam Răducanu’s iconic “Nocturn 9 ½” program at the Țăndărică Theatre, which has inspired generations of young artists from all fields. The title “Cu cât cât dansez, atâta sunt…” is a reference to a 1972 Nocturn show, “Cu cât cânt, atâta sunt…”, dedicated to folklore, deciphered in a modern touch by Miriam’s unique brand.
We therefore invite you to join us for an experience full of emotion, dance and inspiration at this dance day, part of an exhibition dedicated to a life full of movement, connection and senZe.
Two days later, on October 19, at 12:00, we prepared for the end of the exhibition a round table “Miriam Răducanu. To destroy in order to recreate”, with the support of UNITER and as part of FNT24. Special guests are the artists Gigi Căciuleanu, Mariana Mihuț, Raluca Ianegic, Vava Ștefănescu, and the discussions are moderated by Michaela Michailov, who curated the part of the exhibition dedicated to Miriam Răducanu’s collaborations with theater.
The round-table will be followed by a performance-reading by Lari Giorgescu – “Poetry of the Dream” by Miriam Răducanu, produced by Unteatru (2013).
The exhibition closes on October 19 at 8:00 pm, after which the public will have the chance to see the performance “Nocturn. Gigi Căciuleanu / Confesiuni” after choreographies by Gigi Căciuleanu and Miriam Răducanu, presented as part of the National Theatre Festival, on October 20, 9:30 pm – Izvor Hall. The performers are Lari Giorgescu, Lelia Marcu-Vladu, Alina Petrică and soprano Oana Berbec, with the exceptional participation of the master Virgil Ogășanu.
The exhibition can be visited according to the Residence 9 program (Tuesday – Friday 16:00 – 20:00/ Saturday – Sunday 13:00 – 20:00) until October 19, 2024. Admission is free.
