“Our Body” is an invitation to an initiatory journey into contemporary dance. The workshop focuses on the connection between thought, body, space and time in which participants are encouraged to explore the fluctuations of these parameters through what we simply call – movement. The main feature is the understanding of the body’s functioning mechanisms focusing on breathing, posture, release of muscular tension, coordination but also emotional state. We will build inner and outer space by exploring the imagination, stimulating creativity and learning to see movement as an engine of knowledge.

Biography
Carmen Coțofană is a freelance artist, with ballet studies at “Octavian Stroia” High School in Cluj Napoca and choreography at UNATC I.L. Caragiale in Bucharest. Since 1999 she has participated in various choreographic and performative projects that have been presented in national and international festivals, she has studied techniques and body principles in professional scholarships and workshops, she has experienced personal productions, she collaborates in theatre and film projects, she has developed her teaching skills with her practice in the academic environment and participates in the organization of programs and projects as an employee of the National Center for Dance Bucharest.
