Info

Want to see how a dance show comes to life before its premiere? Tangaj Collective and the Ecosystem Festival invite you to the rehearsal hall to discover the behind-the-scenes of their latest project — The Choreography of Water of Water. Alongside choreographer Simona Deaconescu, choreography assistant Georgia Elza Măciuceanu, and dancers Silvia Brazzale, Laura Murariu, Chelsea Reichert, and Ada Anghel, you will have a chance to witness fragments of the creative process and, at the end, we will gather for stories accompanied by lemonade, tea, and homemade snacks.

The Choreography of Water explores the movement of water, from the invisible flows within the body to those that shape the planet. In the body, water flows continuously through blood, lymph, and tears, sustaining daily life. On Earth, it circulates through rivers, seas, and oceans. Today, however, these flows are constantly diverted, blocked, or exploited: dams, pollution, massive relocations of resources. And the consequences are immediate—both for the balance of the planet and for our bodies, which are interconnected with it.

On stage, this idea takes shape through the visions of choreographer Simona Deaconescu, visual artist Ioana Vreme Moser, and sound artist Simina Oprescu, interpreted by four performers who move through landscapes populated by transparent glass sculptures and tubes through which water flows. These hybrid objects—part organ, part machine—function as a fluid computer, where every loop, blockage, or deviation generates sound. Sometimes the dancers trigger the flows; other times, the flows dictate the movement.

One month before the official premiere, scheduled for October 4 and 5, the show’s team is in the midst of the creative process and invites you to discover some of the movement sketches developed over the last two weeks. At the end, you can leave anonymous feedback, if you wish. The event is held in partnership with the Ecosystem International Performing Arts Festival, an interdisciplinary and inclusive project that brings together artists and performing practices from Europe and opens discussions on current social issues.
