Info
Grace (Eliza Trefaș) emerges at the intersection between its meaning in dance and a broader understanding of grace, as found, for example, in mysticism. In spiritual contexts, grace refers to a mysterious state, something received rather than created, while in dance it is understood, conversely, as the consequence of meticulous technical control over the body. Here, grace is approached across its broad spectrum: from the abstract and spiritual (forms of attention) to formal humour (can we dance gracefully?), from grace as a spirit that guides the dancer to grace as a set of charismatic tricks performed by the body. The work is interested in bringing back the possibility of spirit within the body, allowing dance to unfold through a subtle negotiation between effort and grace, dedication and surrender, passion and the unknown. A dance at the edge of the unknown, “a groove that’s in the heart,” if we may put it that way.
Love (Florin Flueraș) explores practices of amplifying bodily sensitivity, and of love in its broader sense, as an affective foundation of reality that sensitive bodies can, mysteriously, sometimes perceive and influence. In Love, hypersensitized bodies are placed in “inappropriate” contexts where something else is already happening — from art spaces to supermarkets and any other kind of context (in this case, a dance performance). Their sensitivity introduces a contrast that can performatively interfere with the normality of these contexts, potentially opening up temporary zones of possibility. Because affects are contagious, the entire atmosphere and situation can be affected. Works are usually based on images, objects, sounds, movements, or concepts. “Love” is centred on affective hypersensitivity.

Biographies
Eliza Trefaș works in contemporary dance and visual arts. She is interested in mediating visible and invisible forms of life through the body. Since 2022, she has co-hosted Somn with Florin Flueraș, a space for falling asleep in the face of rigid institutional conventions and expectations. She has presented work at Salonul de Proiecte, Suprainfinit Gallery, eXplore Festival, the National Center for Dance Bucharest, Bang Torres Vedras, Multiplicidades Festival Santa Cruz, RAKETE Tanzquartier Vienna, DO Festival Gdansk, among others. In 2021, she received the CNDB Award for her contribution to contemporary dance.
Florin Flueraș extends his artistic practice into philosophy, politics, spirituality, education, literature, and health, creating performative encounters between art and its outside, affecting conventions and certainties in both spheres. In Artwork, he transforms artworks into practices, composing a “method” in the format of somatic/spiritual techniques. Together with Alina Popa, he created alternative art environments, artworks as Artworlds (Unsorcery, Clinica, Black Hyperbox). In Postspectacol, initiated together with Ion Dumitrescu, he applies performance tools to other areas of reality, such as a presidential campaign.
In Love, Unexperiences, Unimages, Unhere, he explores situations and bodily capacities that operate on a meta level, affecting what can be thought, seen, and felt in different contexts. In some contexts, the works appear uninvited — Unofficial Unworks. Rather than seeing his practice as merely visual or conceptual, Florin Flueraș describes his recent work as affect art.
He has presented his work in contexts including Fap São Paulo, DEPO Istanbul, MUMOK Kino Vienna, HAU Berlin, TQW Vienna, DeSingel Antwerp, Kaaitheater Brussels, Berardo Museum Lisbon, Aleppo Brussels, MDT Stockholm, Akademie Solitude Stuttgart, Europalia Brussels, Jardim Equatorial São Paulo, Swimming Pool Sofia, Bozar Brussels, Matter of Art Prague Biennale, among others.
