Everything for Endorphins workshops return in a special mini-series dedicated to Animest 2023 spectators!

Everything for endorphins* proposes a type of “contemporary cardio” that is placed somewhere between fitness exercises and contemporary dance classes, stimulating both the physicality and the sweat glands, as well as creativity and well-being.
Everything for endorphins is a format designed by Alexandra Mihaela Dancs in 2016 and produced by CNDB. At that time, what already interested the artist from a choreographic point of view – endurance, exhaustion, testing of limits – overlapped with a shaky state of health, the approach also gaining therapeutic value.

We integrate techniques and themes specific to contemporary dance, accessible to all, in guided improvisation sessions. We engage in intense physical practice, move vigorously, dance explosively, give our everything for endorphins! We thus access physicalities, states and situations in which we explore the choreographic potential, individually and in groups. We focus on effort and physical endurance, “flirting” with exhaustion without collapsing, approaching it as a source of energy regeneration, recognizing and consciously using the resources that support us in motion. When we feel like we can’t, we can. The ninety minutes are led by two choreographers who sweat shoulder to shoulder with everyone.

*Endorphins, substances with morphine-like effects, are produced by the central nervous system and the pituitary gland, being released especially during sustained physical effort. In addition to their analgesic properties and the fact that they can produce euphoric states, endorphins are some of the most effective natural immunomodulators.
