Fictions my body

Info

Fictions, my body brings together two artistic proposals that focus on the relationship between language and body and the different ways in which they influence each other.

We are interested in the word that can blur the line between reality and fiction, the language that provokes imaginations and possibilities to open other worlds. The word, spoken or unspoken, can re-signify the reality rendered through the body, throws us into infinite possibilities of being, constantly shaping the perspectives and conventions in which we fit. Body language and experience act together, can influence each other, and open processes through which different perspectives, worlds, identities, feelings, knowledge, forms of expression, truths, fictions, etc., can be revealed, accessed.

Where do I remain when I throw my word
by Andreea David

I’m where I throw my word, or somewhere behind it, and I look for my soul. I’m actually where my attention is. Or, things keep being said and I see myself somewhere behind them. Where do I stay when I turn my attention away? I could say that I don’t recognize the identities that appear in me. And that delights me. But even the word “identity” fixes me, in one way or another /

I would rather let my mind slide through various possible worlds, become those worlds and draw after itself the body and the soul, embody them, present them, deviate them. A fluid mind that can’t help but imagine, and even go through all those worlds. By a movement from the head of the mind, from the bottom of the mind, from the elbow of the mind, from the stomach of the mind, from the eyes of the mind or from its mouth.

Wor(l)ds
by Eliza Trefaș

The sensitivity of the body actualizes worlds, worlds actualize words, through which different realities can appear. States make their presence felt from the inside out, from the outside in, from the past to the present and from elsewhere – here. A fragmented speech, in an attempt to remember a dream, during the dream. A deviation in reality incorporating the invisible. The body between what we perceive and what we don’t, between what we know and what we don’t. The body changes worlds, navigates abstract and banal territories, which also announces its presence through the word. The word facilitates the experience, it appears from a sensitivity activated in the body, from an attention directed by the invisible.

World as a body being read.
