Info

You are invited, young and grown-up alike, to a collage event dedicated to discovering the big world of little ones – a universe full of imagination, movement, and joy.

The event brings together five choreographic works prepared by the students of the CNDB Performing art school for children and special guests from the “Floria Capsali” Choreography High School, part of the Dinu Lipatti National College of Arts in Bucharest.

Under the guidance of choreographers and teachers, the children of the CNDB School of Performing Arts invite you to step into a world where play becomes art and movement becomes story.

Andreea Belu and Catrinel Catană worked with the children to prepare a collective performance exploring themes such as balance, detachment, landing, fluidity of movement, improvisation, stage presence, and reaction speed—in a combination of spontaneity, courage, and authentic expressiveness. The movements chosen by the children in individual studies and in class were combined into teams and movement variations chosen by them.

Another choreographic moment, under the guidance of Eva Danciu, is a reminder that war only makes sense in the naivety of childhood games, otherwise it should not exist. Through movement, the children reinterpret the idea of confrontation, transforming it into a game of discovery, cooperation, and the joy of being together. Dance becomes the language of innocence and hope.

Guest choreography works

In this shirt

Dance performed by 11th grade students: Lakshmi Gopalakrishnan, Antonia Ion, Maya Gheorghe, Anelis Tabian
Choreography and guidance: Doina Georgescu

The work was built on the idea that the general state of adolescents is one full of questions, of states that generate ambiguity and uncertainty, but it is also charged with the desire for affirmation and individuality.

Aches and Echoes

Performed by: Sara Piliego (9th grade student)
Choreography: Prof. Krista Sandu

Inspired by the words of Forest Blakk, this solo explores inner transformation, from chaos and fear to light and acceptance. Aches and Echoes is a dance about rebirth, courage, and healing that comes from scars.

We look forward to celebrating with you the energy, courage, and creativity of young dancers. An evening of discovery, sincere expression, and the beauty of movement—for children, parents, and all those who believe in art that grows with us.

Launched by the National Center for Dance Bucharest in March 2018, the Performing art school for children is the first local program for training and artistic education in contemporary dance and performing arts. The performative school runs throughout the school year and integrates contemporary dance, creation, and improvisation courses, as well as other workshops and artistic education activities for children.

The CNDB is one of the few institutions that presents the results of its students to the public in the form of performances, following the acquisition and deepening of notions of contemporary dance, creation, and improvisation.
