Info

A show about exaggeration, abuse, and excess, reflecting a society characterized by relentless turmoil and frenetic activity often culminating in burnout. Excess accompanies us everywhere, whether we are talking about an excess of shyness, power, hatred, thinking, loving, working, or loneliness. And we all know it is too much when we cross the red line. The show’s concept was born during a period of near burnout that we experienced before the creative process. We also turned our attention to those around us and noticed the effects of excess, so we thought we would outline them in a show where we want to see what lies beyond exceeding acceptable limits. “Red Line” is about a certain “too much” that has slipped away, about all that we could no longer overlook, about what we are all living.

Biographies

Alexandru Radu tells us that he likes to experiment, to search and to always focus on the process and what he can learn from each experience. This is why the performances he has created belong to different choreographic approaches. These include DIE(T), RED LINE, Quantum Bodies, Little Prince, Space-Soul-Second and KARNAL. In 2023, at the eighth edition of the D-Butan-T festival, RED LINE won the special prize offered by Linotip – Independent Choreographic Center. This prize consisted of the performance in Bucharest and a 3-day workshop at Linotip. Radu has also collaborated with directors to choreograph theater performances such as: Three Sad Pieces – Radu Afrim, The Theorem of Infinite Monkeys, and IVAN – Antonella Cornici. Radu completed his undergraduate studies in 2020, at the National University of Arts “George Enescu” Iasi, Faculty of Theater, Choreography section, and two years later he will complete his master’s studies at the same educational institution, Theater Performing Arts section. He is currently a freelance choreographer and PhD student in the “Doctoral School of Theater” of the same University.

Alice Veliche, choreographer and performer, characterizes herself as energetic, dreamy and creative. Alice tackles diverse themes in her productions and is a creator who seeks new challenges. Her signature performances include RED LINE, Quantum Bodies, The Asylum, FeMALE, FeMALE, The Little Prince, and Space-Soul-Second. In 2022 he choreographed the 30th edition of the UNITER Gala, and in 2023, at the 8th edition of the D-Butan-T festival, RED LINE won the special prize offered by Linotip – Independent Choreographic Center.
