Info

The National Centre for Dance Bucharest, in partnership with Plastic Art Performance Collective, through the organizer Alina Tofan, announces the Ecoperformance Workshop run by Taanteatro Company from Brazil, to which Romanian artists interested in the symbiosis between art and ecology are invited to apply. The workshop will be led by Maura Baiocchi and Wolfgang Pannek – artists of the Taanteatro Company, originally from Sao Paolo and will take place within the first edition of the Ecoperformance Film Festival organized in Romania (fourth internationally).

The Taanteatro Ecoperformance Workshop is an invitation to artists who strive to go beyond the excessively anthropocentric concepts and practices of the performing and audiovisual arts. Guided by a symbiotic practice-theory approach, Maura Baiocchi and Wolfgang Pannek will provide a conceptual overview of ecoperformance within the methodological framework of taanteatro, and will give an introduction to practices that benefit and intensify environmentally oriented states and dynamics of performative perception, presence and interaction. Integrating awareness, training, theory and creation, the practitioners will propose psychophysical exercises such as “Mandala of Body Energy” and “Conatus (Effort)” and will address the concepts of tension, ecoporality, schizophrenia, ecoperformance and symbiosis-scene. The meeting will culminate in a collective performative improvisation based on the workshop programme.

Wanted: dancers, actors, performers, artists interested in movement and ecology.

Participants should send a motivation letter explaining why they want to participate, their experience as an artist and their interest in being part of this workshop by 9 June at 00:00 to
