Program of Workshops and Training in Cultural Management

From October 5–8, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Casa Tranzit will host a series of free hands-on workshops open to anyone interested: students, young professionals, and cultural workers. The registration deadline is October 2, 2026.

  • A project management workshop led by Laura Trocan (a producer in the performing arts with 10 years of experience in coordinating and producing cultural projects in both the public and independent sectors) and Andreea Andrei (a theater scholar, cultural manager, and performing arts curator, and artistic consultant at the National Dance Center in Bucharest). The workshop offers an introduction to dance production, team management, and financial management.
  • Workshop on cultural space management and institutional dramaturgy facilitated by Könczei Csilla (founder of the Casa Tranzit project, Ph.D. in ethnography and ethnology, associate professor, with extensive research in the anthropology of dance) and Lorand Maxim (director, producer, and cultural worker, director of the Tranzit Foundation). The workshop explores the intersection of dance, anthropology, and philosophy, while also drawing on the Tranzit Archive.

Paid Internship and Public Screening Series

To organize the season taking place from October through December 2026, Casa Tranzit is offering three paid internship positions in cultural production. Participants will work alongside the organizing team in performance management, communications, logistics, and artist relations. Applications are open until October 2, 2026. At the same time, lovers of contemporary dance and the performing arts are invited to join a Viewing and Reflection Circle, coordinated by Könczei Csilla and researcher Ilinca-Tamara Todoruț (a theater researcher, critic, playwright, and university lecturer who holds a Ph.D. from Yale University, with extensive international experience in playwriting and specialized publications). Circle members are granted free access to the dance season’s performances. No experience is necessary—just curiosity. The viewing group will function similarly to a book club, but focused on contemporary dance. Registration is open until October 8, 2026.

About Casa Tranzit

Established in 1997, Casa Tranzit is the first example in Romania where the historical and symbolic value of a former synagogue has been brought back into the public eye through the creation of an independent cultural center. Our mission is to bring the building back into the public sphere by restoring and maintaining the architectural complex and by preserving the memory of the place. This site serves as a reminder of the extreme consequences of social exclusion—a space constantly being filled with new content, offering opportunities for ongoing reinterpretations of possible models of coexistence.
