The first version of “Ilusionists” (concept and artistic direction: Mădălina Dan) premiered in 2009. In 2020, the work returned to the stage with a new generation of performers, a cast made up of graduates from the CNDB Academy of Dance and Performance and dancers from the Romanian dance community – Carmen Coțofană, Alexandra Bălălășoiu, Smaranda Găbudeanu, Georgia Măciuceanu and Virginia Negru. The content of the performance is seen as an extension of the playful stage of early life, characterized by play, innocence and continuous enthusiasm in perceiving and transforming the world. It rejects the automatism, classifications and simplifications that take the place of magic in adult life and returns to the logic and relationships that make the real and the imaginary, the possible and the impossible intertwine.
