Info
The presentation is a pre-launch event for the book “Radical Bodies in Contemporary Performances” by Mihaela Michailov, published by the National Center for Dance Bucharest in partnership with Vellant Publishing House. The event takes place online, in the presence of students from Theater and Cultural Management, within UNATC I.L. Caragiale, Bucharest. Coordinator: Anca Ioniță.
The presentation centers significant moments in the history of performance, with a focus on creations that marked what the theorist Erika-Fischer Lichte calls the performative turn, a representative turning point for the evolution of the performing arts. Significant concepts from Performance Art will be discussed, such as: presence, participation, radical corporeality, self-representation, self-performance, hyper-exposed vulnerability.
