Info

A performance about the eventuality of emotions.

On a daily basis we go through a series of emotions, more or less nuanced – happiness, fear, sadness, anger, surprise, disgust – states of the body, as we perceive them mentally. But what do we do with them, in a world in which we are encouraged to differentiate rationality from affect? To what extent do we deny our emotions in an attempt to maintain balance in stressful situations, in a highly tech environment, continuously and rapidly changing? What echo do everyday experiences have in our body, what do we choose to keep of what we experience, what do we ignore and what do we express?” – Irina Marinescu

“Don’t Take It Personally” is an invitation to a space where emotion becomes movement, sound, color. Separately and collectively, the proposals of the five artists collaborating on the project pull the imagination and the body into an immersive experience which aims to offer perspectives on somatization. Each proposal has an immediate consequence, but don’t take it personally.
