IRIDESCENT

International Festival for Contemporary Dance and Other Reconfigurations of Sensibility

Info

This November, we create space for new worlds to emerge. In a constantly shifting universe, Iridescent celebrates the transformative power of ideas and dance.

Iridescent is an invitation to curiosity and openness, challenging you to navigate unfamiliar territories. Discover micro-histories that disrupt global narratives, provocative non-Eurocentric histories, presences that intersect with the history of dance, and critical examinations of theatrical norms and traditions. These experiences encourage us to cultivate an expansive and generous perspective.

This year’s program presents 16 performances and works, most of them premiering in Romania, by creators including: Ioana Paraskevopoulou, Jérôme Bel, Adriana Butoi, Jean-Baptiste Baele, Mădălina Dan, Moritz Ostruschnjak, Florin Flueraș, Janet Novás, Ioana Marchidan, Dominik Więcek, Ioana Păun, Simona Deaconescu & Vanessa Goodman, Iva Sveshtarova & Willy Prager, and their guests.

You’ll have the chance to attend dance workshops, film screenings, and discussions on the phenomena shaping our existence, featuring Constantin Vică, Veronica Lazăr, Anda Zahiu, Alexandra Zorilă, and Paul Gabriel Sandu. Join us for the Ideas for Planet Earth Marathon, and don’t miss the party!

Iridescent is a space for coming together. Think of it as a navigational tool that inspires us to explore new possibilities and imagine a better world..
